SB 576 Textbooks.

SUMMARY:

Textbooks. Provides that, upon the written request of at least six division superintendents, after approval by their respective school boards, the Board of Education shall amend the approved textbook list to include textbooks or series of textbooks requested to be added to the list by the division superintendents. The Board must amend the approved textbook list within 30 days after receiving the written request. No designation may be made in the list to indicate the method of selection of such textbooks. However, textbooks or series of textbooks added to the approved list in this manner are subject to the provisions of law and Board regulations for textbook selection and adoption.
