SUMMARY:
Additional transient occupancy tax. Allows the Counties of Chesterfield, Hanover and Henrico to impose an additional transient occupancy tax not to exceed four percent of the amount charged for the room or space occupied; however, the tax does not apply to rooms or spaces rented and occupied by the same person for thirty or more days. Revenues collected from the additional tax must be spent for promoting tourism, travel or business which generates tourism or travel in the Richmond metropolitan area.
