1996 SESSION
SB 489 Community criminal justice services boards.
Introduced by: R. Edward Houck | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Community criminal justice boards. Allows community criminal justice boards to use up to 10 percent of grant funding for administrative support and gives community corrections programs established by the boards an appeal to the Criminal Justice Services Board if grant funding is denied or taken away. The bill eliminates the requirement that each local governing body approve all participating locality members and clarifies that the appointed members be those with an interest in the criminal justice system. Private not-for-profit programs are given specific access to criminal history records checks and are also placed under the risk management insurance plan for political subdivisions and constitutional officers.
