SB 426 State mental hospitals; disposal of unclaimed personal property.

SUMMARY:

State mental hospitals. Allows the director of a mental hospital, at the end of the three years, to reissue unclaimed articles of clothing to current residents and will allow the disposal of unclaimed articles that are not suitable for sale or use by others. Current law requires the director of the facility to sell former residents' unclaimed personal property three years after abandonment.

This bill is similar to HB 1253.
