SB 341 Special education plans.

Introduced by: Malfourd W. Trumbo | all patrons    ...    notes | add to my profiles

SUMMARY:

Special education plans. Eliminates the statutory requirement for annual submissions of special education plans. This bill provides that school boards must submit required special education plans acceptable to the Board of Education, in accordance with the schedule and by the date specified by the Board; however, the Board's specified schedule shall not require plans to be submitted more often than annually unless changes to the plan are required by federal or state law or regulation. Such plans, covering a Board specified period of time, must indicate the extent to which the plan for the preceding period has been implemented, and the plan to be followed during the next period. Currently, local school boards must submit acceptable special education plans annually to the Board, specifying the extent to which the plan was implemented in the previous year and an acceptable plan for the next year.

This bill is identical to HB 545.
