SUMMARY:

Virginia Freedom of Information Act; index of certain computer databases required. Requires public bodies of state government to compile, and annually update, an index of computer databases, which contain, at a minimum, those databases created by them after July 1, 1997. The bill specifies information that the index must contain about each database. The bill requires the Director of the Department of Information Technology, in consultation with the State Librarian and the State Archivist, to develop guidelines for the indices and the databases to be indexed.
