1996 SESSION
SB 172 Elections; campaign finance disclosure reports, record retention.
Introduced by: Kevin G. Miller | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Elections; campaign finance disclosure reports; record retention requirements. Modifies the record-retention requirements that apply to the State Board of Elections. The bill eliminates the requirement that the Board must keep the reports until the next general election has been held for the office in question. The requirements remain that the Board must retain the reports until a final report is filed and for one year following the filing of the final report and must forward all reports for permanent retention by the Library of Virginia archives. The bill does not alter present record-retention requirements for local electoral boards.
