SUMMARY:
Contracting with auditors. Authorizes the Tax Commissioner to contract with accountants, tax administrators of other states, and other persons to conduct taxpayer audits. The terms of the contracts would be as agreed upon by the Tax Commissioner. Contract auditors will be required to post a bond. Moneys collected by contract auditors will be placed in a new special fund, and the balance in the special fund, after payment of the contract auditors' compensation and expenses and the nonpersonal service expenses incurred in developing and administering the contract auditor program, will be transferred annually to the appropriate general, nongeneral, or local fund.
