SUMMARY:

Insurance; technical amendments; taxes applicable to insurance companies. Clarifies the State Corporation Commission's authority to assess and collect fees for the Flood Prevention and Protection Assistance Fund, the program to reduce losses from motor vehicle thefts ("HEAT") and retaliatory assessments pursuant to § 38.2-1026. The bill also adds cross-references to clarify that § 38.2-3418 (coverage for victims of rape or incest) and Chapter 54 (utilization review) of Title 38.2 are applicable to health maintenance organizations, and corrects an improper cross-reference relating to filing of annual insurance reports.
