Introduced by: Charles J. Colgan | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Failing to stop for a police officer. Distinguishes between a person's willful and wanton failure to honor a police officer's signal to stop his vehicle and the existing crime of wilfully and wantonly attempting to elude the officer. The bill punishes the failure to stop as a Class 4 misdemeanor (currently not a crime) and leaves unchanged the penalty for an attempt to elude (currently a Class 1 misdemeanor).
