SB 134 Elections; write-in votes on voting equipment.

Introduced by: Charles J. Colgan | all patrons    ...    notes | add to my profiles

SUMMARY:

Elections; write-in votes on voting equipment. Adds a clarifying provision to require that write-in votes be entered on voting equipment in accordance with the instructions for the specific equipment being used by the voter. With some forms of voting equipment, a voter wishing to cast a write-in vote must mark a circle to signal his intent to cast a write-in vote. The mark-sensitive equipment then drops his ballot with his write-in vote into a write-in vote container. The bill clarifies that write-in votes must be cast in accordance with appropriate instructions in order to be counted.
