1996 SESSION
SB 102 Concealed weapons permits.
Introduced by: Joseph V. Gartlan, Jr. | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Concealed weapons permits. Repeals the 1995 amendments which require the court to issue a permit to any person not prohibited from possessing, transporting, etc., a handgun. The requirement that the applicant prove need is restored, but the list of disqualifying factors is retained. The bill adds a list of certain factors or circumstances which shall be deemed to establish the requisite "need." Need would be demonstrated by, for example, the fact that lawful employment requires the carrying of cash or travel into dangerous areas or at dangerous times or that threats had been made against the applicant or a family member of the applicant.
