SUMMARY:

Study; JLARC; adult care residences. Requests the Joint Legislative and Audit Review Commission to examine and recommend the best method for providing mental health, mental retardation and substance abuse services to persons residing in adult care residences (ACRs). A number of mentally disabled citizens reside in ACRs which are not licensed by the Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services and do not, therefore, necessarily receive appropriate services. Two-tiered licensing to better meet these needs has been authorized and funded by the General Assembly.
