SUMMARY:

Study; availability of dental hygienists. Requests a joint subcommittee to examine the shortfall of dental hygienists in the Commonwealth to meet an ever-increasing need for dental care. The study cites the long waiting lists for current programs, the programs which have been approved for training of dental hygienists but which have not been funded by the state, and a number of other inhibiting factors which make it difficult to obtain dental hygiene personnel, especially in rural and underserved areas of the Commonwealth.
