SUMMARY:
Study; health; pain management, including chronic pain. Continues and revises the charge of the Joint Subcommittee to Study the Commonwealth's Current Laws and Policies Related to Acute and Cancer Pain as the Joint Subcommittee to Study the Commonwealth's Current Laws and Policies Related to Chronic, Acute, and Cancer Pain Management. The resolution notes that the joint subcommittee did conduct a pain management symposium in December 1995 which was highly successful and was developed and conducted without state funds. The joint subcommittee will examine the issues related to pain management, particularly the economic effect of chronic pain. The joint subcommittee will also examine the issues related to chronic pain and third party reimbursement. The joint subcommittee is also continued to oversee the publication of medical articles to reflect the symposium proceedings and a subcommittee report to chronicle its work over the year.
