SUMMARY:
Study; health; local government; Virginia Indoor Clean Air Act. Calls for a joint subcommittee study of the no-smoking ordinance act, known as the Virginia Indoor Clean Air Act. The joint subcommittee is requested to consider (i) any revisions of the law to increase its enforceability and effectiveness; (ii) whether, and to what extent, local governments have made use of the law's authority to adopt ordinances; and (iii) what the proper placement of the law in the Code of Virginia would be: local government or health.
