SUMMARY:

Standing Subcommittee to Monitor the Issues Related to Infection with Human Immunodeficiency Viruses. Metamorphoses the Joint Subcommittee Studying the Issues Related to Infection with Human Immunodeficiency Viruses to a single-meeting per year monitoring subcommittee for five years. The resolution notes the many emerging issues, e.g., new and costly drugs and drug treatment protocols, increases in the population of young infected individuals and women, increases in institutionalized population, including prisoners, and the interaction with revisions in health care and program funding such as Medigrant. The established membership would continue to serve in order to leverage the expertise and history developed among the members.
