SUMMARY:

Prisons; construction. Increases from 30 to 90 days the notice period by the Department of Corrections prior to issuance of requests for proposals for construction of facilities for the confinement of inmates where a correctional facility is to be located. The bill also adds that, if the local jurisdiction where the facility is to be located requests it, the Department shall, upon receipt of such request, hold a public hearing in the jurisdiction.
