SUMMARY:

Child support; shared custody. Defines "day" for purposes of applying the shared custody rules of the child support guidelines to mean an overnight stay and specifies that use of the shared custody rules by the courts is permissive. This bill overrules the majority opinion in Ewing v. Ewing which held that a day is a continuous 24-hour period.
