HB 831 Public service companies; contracts with affiliated interests.
Introduced by: W. Roscoe Reynolds | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Public service companies; contracts with affiliated interests. Exempts from current law requiring Virginia State Corporation Commission (SCC) review of contracts between a public service company and any affiliate, telephone companies which obtain under § 56-235.5 a Commission order approving an alternative form of regulation which is based on price regulation. However, this exemption does not apply if the annual amount expended or received by the telephone company under a contract or arrangement with an affiliated entity exceeds $500,000. The bill also exempts from the SCC's authority to regulate public service companies' relations with affiliated entities, any service or property furnished pursuant to an approved tariff filed with the Commission by any such telephone company.
