SUMMARY:
Physician-patient privileged communications. Eliminates (i) the requirement that disclosure of otherwise privileged communications between a physician and patient be made only pursuant to discovery in a civil action and (ii) the prohibition on contacts by lawyers with treating physicians except with the consent of the patient. The law as in effect prior to 1993 is reinstated.
