SUMMARY:
Habitual offenders; show cause. Provides for issuance of a summons, rather than an order, to show cause. The bill also clarifies the procedure to be followed when a summons to show cause is issued by the general district court, but the conviction of the qualifying offense is appealed to the circuit court.
The bill is recommended by the Committee on District Courts.
