HB 769 Fiscal agents for regional jails, jail farms or correctional facil.
Introduced by: Shirley F. Cooper | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Fiscal agents for regional jails, jail farms or regional correctional facilities. Establishes permissive language to allow local treasurers or Directors of Finance to serve as the fiscal agents for jails, jail farms or regional jails. The bill also establishes procedures for the services of the fiscal officer should the treasurer or Director of Finance be utilized. The bill additionally would prohibit any jail administrator from serving as an officer or partner of, or receiving any personal benefit from, any private corrections firm doing business in Virginia. They would not, however, be prohibited from being paid consultants.
