SUMMARY:

Council on Child Day Care and Early Childhood Programs. Abolishes the 15-member Council and its supporting agency, which were created in the executive branch in 1989. The purpose of the Council is to provide an integrated, multi-agency approach which allows for maximum delivery of programs, services and philosophies in the delivery of quality child day care and early childhood development services. The Council is charged with planning, coordinating and evaluating all child day care and early childhood developmental services among the agencies of the Commonwealth. The Council develops a biennial state plan for child day care and early childhood programs and administers the $ 17 million federal Child Care and Development Block Grant.
