SUMMARY:

Victim impact statement. Provides that a victim impact statement, when one is not ordered by the court as part of a presentence investigation, shall be submitted on request of a victim. Currently, such a statement is prepared by the Commonwealth's attorney and is submitted with the consent of the victim. The victim continues to have the option of submitting his own statement in his own words, but the bill also allows the statement to be prepared by another designated by the victim.
