SUMMARY:

Fines and costs; interest. Requires that interest on all unpaid fines and costs accrue at the judgment rate of interest. Under current law, where the amount of unpaid fines and/or costs is less than $200, interest accrues at a flat rate of $4 per $50 for each year or portion of a year.

The bill is recommended by the Committee on District Courts.
