SUMMARY:
Semiconductor Manufacturing Performance Grant Program. Establishes the Semiconductor Manufacturing Performance Grant Program to encourage the manufacturing of semiconductor wafers in the Commonwealth. The program begins on January 1, 2002, and ends December 31, 2008. The program is limited by population brackets to manufacturers located in Goochland County. The grants will be awarded at the rate of $250 per wafer, and the maximum amount of grants awarded shall not exceed $60 million. Payment of grants will be made by a specific legislative appropriation, subject to a memorandum of agreement between the manufacturer and the Commonwealth.
