SUMMARY:

Mental health; certification of providers. Codifies previous budget language which designated the Board and Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services as the responsible entity for certifying the qualifications of case managers and behavior consultants who are not psychologists for purposes of Medicaid reimbursement. Regulations were issued, but subsequent budget language omitted this provision, leaving the state with no responsible agencies. This legislation will enable reimbursement to continue to CSBs and other providers.
