SUMMARY:
Hearings for certain school board contracts. Requires a public hearing prior to the transfer of the administration of all instructional services for any public school classroom pursuant to a contract with any private entity or organization, i.e., before privatizing the administration of any instructional services for any public school classroom. Under current law, school boards must hold public hearings before providing for the consolidation of schools, and, in divisions having more than 15,000 in average daily membership (ADM), before providing for redistricting school boundaries or adopting pupil assignment plans that affect more than 15 percent of pupils in ADM at the affected school.
