1996 SESSION
HB 424 Presumption of death.
Introduced by: Vincent F. Callahan, Jr. | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Presumption of death. Allows a person for whom the State Department has issued a report of presumed death in a foreign country to be presumed dead for purposes of any case in which his death is in question. The bill eliminates the seven-year waiting period for probate or administration of the estate of a person presumed dead; the process of probate or administration may begin once the presumption arises.
