HB 378 Private security businesses.

SUMMARY:

Department of Criminal Justice Services; private security businesses. Adds the definition of "license number" which after July 1, 1997, is required to be displayed on all materials advertising a licensee's business. The bill also exempts from regulation licensed professional engineers and architects who design or whose consulting work involves security measures. The bill permits out-of-state monitoring companies to meet their training requirements by completing a training program which meets or exceeds Virginia's minimum training standards and has been approved by the Department.
