HB 314 Fair campaign practices commissions in Fairfax County.
Introduced by: James M. Scott | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Local fair campaign practices commissions. Authorizes the governing body for any county having the urban county executive form of government (Fairfax) to establish a commission to promote fair campaign practices and encourage compliance with the code of campaign conduct stated in the bill. The commission will review charges of unfair campaign practices. The commission is to be composed of two persons appointed by the county or city political party committee for each party. These members are to appoint three additional members. In case of deadlock, the chief circuit court judge will appoint the additional member or members. Persons holding elected office are ineligible to serve on the commission. The commission will not be established unless each political party eligible to appoint members does so.
