Introduced by: Alan A. Diamonstein | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Tax credits for rent reductions. Extends the sunset date for three years on tax credits for rent reductions on dwelling units occupied by low-income tenants who are elderly or disabled. Currently, the tax credit is set to expire on December 31, 1996, and this legislation extends it through December 31, 1999. Also, the legislation limits the ability of individuals or corporations to claim the credit unless they had validly claimed the credit in June, 1996, and the dwelling unit was occupied by such tenant in June, 1996.
