SUMMARY:

Civil remedy for bad check; additional amounts recoverable. Increases from $20 to $25 the amount of processing charge that may be recovered, in addition to the face amount, in an action for a bad check. It also makes the same change in the amount that the drawer may recover when the drawer has been charged bad check fees in excess of what is allowed under the provisions of the section. These amounts were last increased in 1992.
