SUMMARY:
Health insurance; access to ob/gyn services. Requires insurers and health services plans providing coverage through preferred provider organizations and health maintenance organizations providing coverage for gynecological and obstetrical services to permit any covered female of age 13 or older to (i) designate an obstetrician-gynecologist (ob/gyn) as a primary care physician or (ii) receive an annual examination from an authorized ob/gyn for routine gynecological care without a prior referral from the individual's primary care provider.
