SUMMARY:
Accident and sickness insurance; notification of Medicare eligibility. Requires health insurers (including HMOs) to notify persons covered under health care policies or plans of their eligibility for coverage under Medicare at least 90 days, but no more than 180 days, before their sixty-fifth birthdays. If the health care policies or plans are sponsored by such persons' employers, the employers must be notified as well. The notifications must be sent by registered mail.
