Introduced by: Lacey E. Putney | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Virginia Retirement System; health and group life insurance benefits for certain retirees. Allows state employees who retired on or after January 1, 1994, as a result of being involuntarily separated after 20 or more years of service and who defer retirement to receive health and group life insurance benefits. The bill also expands the number of localities in which VRS members who were county administrators, county managers, and county executives, or city or town managers, and were involuntarily separated after 20 or more years of service may retire with unreduced benefits. Local governments may elect not to provide the unreduced benefits.
