SUMMARY:
Child abuse and neglect. Provides that if the local department of social services, through the exercise of reasonable diligence, cannot locate a child who was reported to be abused or neglected, the period of time during which the child cannot be located shall not count towards the forty-five day time limit (which may be extended to sixty days) on making a determination as to whether the case is founded or unfounded. Documentation of reasonable diligence shall be placed in the child's record.
