SUMMARY:

Watercraft warranty. Establishes the responsibilities of watercraft manufacturers in providing reimbursements to dealers for work performed on watercraft under warranty. Manufacturers will have to reimburse dealers for 100 percent of the dealer's cost for parts and the shipping of the parts to dealers, plus 20 percent of the dealer's cost or $250, whichever is less. The dealer is to be reimbursed for any labor performed under warranty at the retail rate customarily charged. The dealer's claim for reimbursement must be approved or disapproved by the manufacturer within 30 days and paid by the manufacturer within 30 days of approval. If payment is not received within the 30 days, the dealer would be able to charge the manufacturer interest at a rate not to exceed 1 1/2 percent.
