SUMMARY:
Neighborhood Assistance Act. Increases the amount of tax credits authorized under the Neighborhood Assistance Act from $5.25 million to $10 million effective July 1, 1998. Current law allows expenditure for impoverished areas and for impoverished people and will expand the amount of tax credits available from $5.25 million to $8 million effective July 1, 1996. The bill also adds a definition of impoverished area which is the same as for enterprise zones.
