SUMMARY:

Local government; subdivision ordinances. Authorizes localities to require from a developer information on potentially expansive soils (shrink-swell) at the point of the subdivision review process. As a result, building officials would have soil information so as to require construction modification, if needed, on the proposed site. This bill is a recommendation of the Virginia Housing Study Commission.
