SUMMARY:
Sales and use tax exemption; cultural organizations. Grants a sales and use tax exemption for purchases by any nonprofit organization exempt from taxation pursuant to § 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code and from local property taxes and which is organized and operated for the purpose of acquiring, renovating, constructing and operating a Civil War site and museum and an adjacent Civil War era residence. The exemption is retroactive to January 1, 1995. Pamplin Foundation would be among the beneficiaries of the exemption.
