SUMMARY:
Drugs; first offender. Allows the courts to defer disposition and place the offender on probation with the potential for dismissal upon compliance with court-imposed terms and conditions in any proceeding involving a first offense relating to any drug-law violation. Under current law, this deferral and dismissal is available only where the offense involves unlawful possession of controlled substances or marijuana.
