SUMMARY:
School-To-Work Transition Grants Program. Establishes the School-To-Work Transition Grants Program, to be administered by the Board of Education, and the School-To-Work Transition Fund, a special nonreverting fund within the Department of the Treasury. The Fund shall be disbursed to award grants on a competitive basis to public schools, including regional and joint schools, and school divisions. The Department of the Treasury will administer and manage the Fund, subject to the authority of the Board of Education to provide for its disbursement. The grants are to support model programs supporting the transition from school to the workplace and may be used to support the transition programs already authorized by § 22.1-209.01. The Board is to establish criteria for making grants.
