SUMMARY:
Concealed weapons permits. Increases the duration of a concealed weapons permit from 2 to 5 years. The State Police are authorized to revoke a permit upon receipt of a record of conviction or other information regarding the occurrence of an event which would disqualify the person from obtaining the permit initially. The bill provides that the fee (maximum $35) collected by the local law-enforcement agency is to include any charges assessed by the FBI for conducting a national records check.
The bill also includes a clarifying amendment to provisions prohibiting concealed weapons in bars.
