HB 1147 Fiduciary responsibilities of school board employees.
Introduced by: Robert Tata | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Fiduciary responsibilities of school board members, division superintendents, other school board officers, clerks, and employees. Clarifies the fiduciary responsibilities of school board members, division superintendents, etc. by explicitly stating their duties and making them personally liable for any unauthorized deficits, warrants or checks. Although present law makes school board members, division superintendents, and others guilty of malfeasance in office and a Class 3 misdemeanor for issuing bad warrants or checks, there is currently no provision for personal liability for the party or parties authorizing excess expenditures or issuing unauthorized warrants or checks.
