SUMMARY:
Virginia Retirement System; 50/10 retirement. Allows a state employee who takes a 50/10 retirement (i.e., at least age 50 with 10 years of creditable service) to contract with an institution of higher education to provide unique technical expertise for institution-sponsored projects on a part-time basis. This is an exception to the requirement that such state employees not re-enter service in full- or part-time employment with any executive branch agency for two years from the date of retirement.
