1996 SESSION
HB 1019 Certification of backflow prevention device workers.
Introduced by: W. Roscoe Reynolds | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Professions and occupations; certification of backflow prevention device workers. Establishes a certification program, effective July 1, 1998, for "backflow prevention device workers," as they are defined in the bill, to be administered by the Board for Contractors within the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation. Certain individuals will be eligible to waive testing requirements through the bill's "grandfathering" provisions. Provision is also made that there be a penalty for individuals working as uncertified backflow prevention device workers. The bill requires the Board for Contractors to adopt final regulations relating to this certification program on or before April 1, 1998. Finally, the bill requires the Board for Professional and Occupational Regulation to study the appropriate level of regulation of backflow prevention device workers and report its findings by December 1, 1996.
