SUMMARY:
Facilitation of clam and oyster aquaculture. Removes restrictions on the size and type of containers in which cultured oysters may be sold. The taking of cultured oysters on Sundays during daylight hours is allowed. Oysters and clams that are not offered for sale, sold or distributed for direct consumption may be offered for sale, sold or distributed as Virginia clams and oysters even though they have not been in Virginia waters or the Potomac for six months. Currently, oysters and clams must be in such waters for at least six months before they may be offered for sale, sold or distributed as Virginia clams or oysters for any use.
