1996 SESSION
HB 10 Vehicular manslaughter; suspension of license.
Introduced by: Robert G. Marshall | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Administrative license suspension. Allows for immediate license suspension to be imposed when a person, arrested on a DUI charge, is charged with vehicular manslaughter. The suspension is to continue until the person is acquitted or convicted or until the charges are dismissed if the person was previously convicted within the 10 years immediately preceding the offense. If there is no prior offense, a restricted driver's license may be issued after seven days, conditioned upon use of an ignition interlock device. All the procedural provisions governing the current seven-day administrative suspension, vehicle impoundment and court-ordered use of ignition interlock devices continue to apply.
